— How We Work

The offer is on the page. Four steps to funded.

Most mineral buyers send vague letters and ask you to call them. We do it differently. Every letter we send contains your specific tracts, your net mineral acres, an engineering-grade dollar offer, and a QR code to a pre-filled agreement. From there, it's four clean steps.

i. Valuation

We do the homework

Before we make an offer, we evaluate your interest using production data, drilling activity, and operator behavior. Every offer is grounded in technical reality.

ii. Offer

You receive a written offer

A clear, written offer — usually delivered with a unique code so you can review the full valuation online when you're ready. No pressure, no contingencies.

iii. Review

You review on your time

Look through the offer, ask questions, talk to your accountant or attorney. We're available, but we're not in your inbox. The decision is yours.

iv. Close

Funded through escrow

We close through a third-party escrow agent — providing both parties peace of mind. Closing typically happens within 30 days of title verification, sometimes as quickly as 14. Title work and recording handled in-house.

— The FP Difference

Most offers are guesses. Ours aren't.

Most cold mineral letters quote a generic dollar-per-mineral-acre — a back-of-envelope number that ignores well performance, decline curves, and the formation underneath your tract. We've built a vertically integrated valuation platform that runs every tract through engineering-grade models. The number on your offer reflects what your specific tracts are worth — not an industry average.

i.

Production-grounded valuations

We model the actual decline curves, not industry averages — so your offer reflects what your interest is producing, not what an algorithm assumes.

ii.

Operator-aware analysis

We track who's drilling, where they're drilling, and what kind of returns they're generating — context that materially affects what your interest is worth.

iii.

Patient, flexible capital

We invest our principals' capital and partner with outside capital on larger transactions. No fund clock, no quarterly LP letters, no five-year exit horizon. We can close fast and hold long.

— The Principals

An attorney and a petroleum engineer, building a firm together.

FP Minerals is the work of two principals — one a lawyer, one an engineer — who built careers on opposite sides of mineral transactions before deciding the better version of this business required both seats at the table. The disciplines aren't a service we offer. They're the way we think.

The Legal Side
Title, structure, transaction.

Years of experience inside major Texas energy practices and a senior role at a publicly-traded mineral company. The principals of FP Minerals' predecessor entity acquired over 30,000 net royalty acres in the Permian for institutional capital. Knows what makes a deal close cleanly — and what makes one fall apart at the closing table.

The Technical Side
Geology, production, valuation.

Petroleum engineer (with distinction) with over a decade evaluating marketed and non-marketed deals across the Haynesville, Midland Basin, and SCOOP/STACK. Helped lead the technical work behind a major public-company acquisition. Can tell you what an interest is actually worth — not what a tax-roll average suggests.
